Hello! I’m Jodie, and I make birthday cakes in Leeds that are baked fresh to order in my bakery in Kirkstall. After more than 25 years in catering and hospitality, and baking as Jodie Bakes since 2020, there’s nothing I love more than the look on someone’s face when they see their birthday cake.

Kids’ birthday cakes in Leeds

18th, 30th, 50th, 70th… milestone birthdays deserve a proper cake. My celebration cakes are made to wow:

Vintage Heart – £135, 2 layers, 8 inch, serves approx 14+, choose up to 3 colours – see the Vintage Heart.

Funfetti Drips – £100, 4 layers, 6 inch, serves approx 20+ – see Funfetti Drips.

Personalised Heart Cake – 6″ £45 or 8″ £70, vanilla or chocolate, in pink, blue, purple, lemon, sage green or neutral cream, with a name, number or short phrase (3 words max) – see the Personalised Heart Cake.

Bento cakes in Leeds

Bento cakes are single-serving cakes, boxed with a fork – perfect for a birthday treat for one. My Personalised Bento Cake is £32 in vanilla or chocolate – order a Personalised Bento Cake.

Party cakes: sheet cakes and drip cakes

My Personalised Sheet Cake is £50 and serves 12–18. It comes in vanilla, chocolate, lemon or coffee (with vanilla cream), with a vegan version available, and reads Happy Birthday, Thank You, Congratulations or your own message – order a Personalised Sheet Cake.

Drip cakes are always a hit. Try the Mini Oreo Drip Cake (6 inch, serves 4–6, £50) or the bigger Funfetti Drips celebration cake (£100, serves approx 20+).

Add a Bespoke Cake Topper (£3.50, up to 4 words) to any cake – add a cake topper.

Vegan and gluten-free birthday cakes

Yes, I make vegan birthday cakes! The sheet cake comes in a vegan version, and I also bake a Vegan Carrot Cake and a Vegan Lemon Cake (£55 each, 12–16 portions depending on how you cut it). Gluten-free options are available by email enquiry. See all my vegan bakes.

My other £55 cakes (vanilla funfetti, Victoria, lemon & raspberry and chocolate caramel) also give 12–16 portions, depending on how you cut them.

Not a cake person?

No problem! The Brownie & Blondie Stack is a stack of brownies and blondies with lashings of sauce (£45) – see the Brownie & Blondie Stack. The Cookie Pie is stuffed with your favourite filling and cut into 12 pieces (£45) – see the Cookie Pie.

Need a cake fast? Emergency cakes

Forgotten a birthday? It happens! My Emergency Cakes come in double chocolate or Victoria with strawberry: serves 4–6 for £45, or serves 8–12 for £60. Order before 12 for collection the next day between 11am and 3pm, Tuesday to Friday. Emergency Cakes are collection only.

Ordering and collection

Order listed cakes online here. For anything bespoke, email me at hello@jodiebakes.co.uk.

I need a minimum of 72 hours’ notice for every order, but I can’t always guarantee I can fit your order in, as it depends on my other bookings, so it’s best to order early. For birthday, bespoke and wedding cakes, 4 weeks’ notice is ideal, but I always try to help everyone, so do ask even if your date is sooner.

Payment in full is due 14 days before collection or delivery. Bank details are sent by email, and your order is confirmed once payment is received.

Cakes are collected from my bakery at Unit I, Cardigan Workspace, Lennox Road, Leeds LS4 2BL. Collection is Tuesday to Friday, and Saturday, Sunday or Monday by appointment. I’m open Monday to Friday, 10am–4pm, Saturdays by appointment, and I’m closed on Sundays.

Delivery around Leeds is from £6 – just ask and I’ll confirm it by email (bento cakes and Emergency Cakes are collection only). I’m afraid cakes can’t be posted.

Vegan and gluten-free options are available by email enquiry – just ask before you order. Allergens: I use all 14 major allergens in my bakery, including gluten, nuts and peanuts, so I can’t guarantee any bake is free from traces. Please tell me about any allergies before you order.

FAQs

How far in advance should I order a birthday cake?

4 weeks’ notice is ideal for a bespoke birthday cake, but I always try to help everyone. My minimum is 72 hours’ notice, but I can’t always guarantee I can fit your order in, so it’s best to order early. If you’re in a rush, my Emergency Cakes can be ordered before 12 for collection the next day between 11am and 3pm, Tuesday to Friday (collection only).

Do you deliver birthday cakes in Leeds?

Sorry, cakes can’t be posted. For a birthday treat by post, try my Large Personalised Birthday Brownie Slab, which can be posted anywhere in the UK, with postage from £6.

Do you make vegan or gluten-free birthday cakes?

Can you copy a theme or a picture?

I’m happy to use your picture as inspiration. Every cake is handmade, so it won’t be an exact copy. Email your ideas to hello@jodiebakes.co.uk.
