Hi, I’m Jodie! I make bespoke cakes in Leeds, and every one is handmade and baked fresh to order in my bakery in Kirkstall. I’ve worked in catering and hospitality for over 25 years and have been trading as Jodie Bakes since 2020. Some of my favourite bakes are the custom cakes where someone sends me an idea and I get to bring it to life.
I’ve made cakes for TV, I regularly bake for Emmerdale, and I once made Rebel Wilson a birthday cake!
Whatever you’re celebrating, if you can’t find the right cake in my shop, I’ll design one just for you. Think of me as your friendly cake shop in Kirkstall, minus the queue.
How ordering a bespoke cake works
- Email me at hello@jodiebakes.co.uk with your date, the occasion, any name or age, your favourite flavour, the number of guests, any allergies, and a few inspiration photos.
- I’ll check my diary and send you a quote. Bespoke cakes are price on application, and any size can be considered. I use inspiration photos as a starting point; every cake is handmade, so it won’t be an exact copy.
- To book, you pay in full 14 days before collection or delivery. Bank details are sent by email, and your order is confirmed once payment is received.
- Collect your cake from my Kirkstall bakery. Collection is Tuesday to Friday, and Saturday, Sunday or Monday by appointment. Or ask about delivery – delivery around Leeds is from £6.
Lead time: For birthday, bespoke and wedding cakes, 4 weeks’ notice is ideal, but I always try to help everyone, so do ask even if your date is sooner. I need a minimum of 72 hours’ notice for every order, but I can’t always guarantee I can fit your order in, as it depends on my other bookings, so it’s best to order early.
Bespoke birthday cakes

Baby shower cakes
A baby shower cake is such a lovely centrepiece – think soft textured buttercream, greenery and an ‘Oh Baby’ topper, or something bright and fun to match your theme. Just tell me the wording you’d like. Price on application – email me for a quote.
Christening and gender reveal cakes
Christening cakes can be simple and elegant, with a name and date. Gender reveal cakes hide the big news inside – pink or blue sponge or a surprise filling – so only I know until you cut it. Both are price on application, so email me your ideas and I’ll send you a quote.
Every other celebration
Anniversaries, engagements, retirements, thank-yous – if there’s a reason to celebrate, there’s a reason for cake. Engagement cakes are price on application. My Vintage Heart cake (£135, 8 inch, 2 layers, serves approx 14+) is a favourite for anniversaries – see the Vintage Heart.
Corporate and logo cakes: yes, I make these too, price on application. I’ve baked for businesses including Bobble Digital, Google and Leeds Building Society.

Flavours, vegan and gluten-free options
Flavours: vanilla with strawberry jam, chocolate with chocolate ganache, lemon with lemon curd, coffee with vanilla cream, and lemon & raspberry with raspberry jam. Vegan and gluten-free options are available by email enquiry – just ask before you order. See my vegan bakes.
Allergens: I use all 14 major allergens in my bakery, including gluten, nuts and peanuts, so I can’t guarantee any bake is free from traces. Please tell me about any allergies before you order.
Collection and delivery
Cakes are collected from my bakery at Unit I, Cardigan Workspace, Lennox Road, Leeds LS4 2BL. Collection is Tuesday to Friday, and Saturday, Sunday or Monday by appointment. I’m open Monday to Friday, 10am–4pm, Saturdays by appointment, and I’m closed on Sundays.
Delivery around Leeds is from £6, and I’ll confirm it by email. Cakes are never posted.

How much notice do you need for a bespoke cake?

Can you recreate a cake from a picture?
I’m happy to use your picture as inspiration. Every cake is handmade, so it won’t be an exact copy, but it will be uniquely yours.

Do you make christening, gender reveal, engagement or corporate cakes?

What wording can I have on a baby shower cake?
Whatever you like – for example ‘Oh Baby’, a name or a short message. There’s no fixed word limit, as it depends on the size of the cake, so just include your wording in your email and we’ll work it out together.
When do I pay?
Payment in full is due 14 days before collection or delivery. Bank details are sent by email.
