Vegan Cakes in Leeds That Everyone Will Love

There's nothing sadder than the lonely vegan cake at the end of the table that nobody else fancies. Not on my watch! My vegan cakes are made to be delicious for everyone, so nobody has to miss out on a slice.

Here's what I bake, plus a little bit about how I look after allergies, because that's just as important.

Vegan Carrot Cake

This one is a real favourite. It's a scrumptious vegan carrot cake, lightly spiced with cinnamon, mixed spice and nutmeg, with juicy raisins all the way through. It's perfect for a birthday, an afternoon tea or just because it's a Tuesday. As the autumn evenings draw in, it's my idea of a cosy slice with a cuppa.

Vegan Lemon Cake

If you prefer something zingy, my vegan lemon cake is a moist lemon sponge with a delicious lemon (not) butter cream, topped with fresh lemon and beautiful edible petals. It's bright, fresh and so pretty on a table.

Vegan birthday and party cakes

Vegan doesn't have to mean plain! My personalised sheet cakes are available vegan and serve 12 to 18 depending how you cut them. Choose vanilla, chocolate, coffee or lemon, pick your base colour (anything except a black base, but I can do white with black around the edges!) and add your own message on top. It looks gorgeous on any dessert table.

Want something completely bespoke? Just tell me it needs to be vegan when you get in touch, and I'll let my imagination run away with me as usual.

Vegan party bags

Planning a kids' party? My party bag cones come with a pick 'n' mix or a vegan bear mix, all tied up nicely and ready to pop into your party bags. Each cone comes with full ingredient labelling, so parents can check at a glance.

A quick word about allergies

Vegan and allergen-free aren't the same thing. My vegan sheet cake, for example, contains gluten and soya, and like everything I bake it may contain traces of nuts. That's why I always ask about allergies and intolerances when you order. It's so important, and I don't want anyone missing out on enjoying their cake.

Please tell me everything when you enquire. Some of my shop bakes, like the treat boxes and the pick 'n' mix bag, can't be adapted for allergies, but for bespoke orders I'll always let you know what I can do. For my wholesale customers, every bake is labelled with allergen, ingredient and use-by stickers, and I send a full allergen matrix.

Ordering a vegan cake

Please give me at least 72 hours' notice. Collection is from my bakery at Unit I, Cardigan Workspace, Lennox Road, Leeds LS4 2BL, Tuesday to Friday (Saturday, Sunday or Monday by appointment), and I can sometimes deliver locally, so just ask and I'll confirm.

When you get in touch, let me know the date, the flavour, any name, age or message, how many people you're feeding and any allergies. Once your cake is home, keep it in the fridge until about 45 minutes before serving, as buttercream doesn't love a warm room! Questions or a custom idea? Email me at hello@jodiebakes.co.uk.
