Design your cake form and allergy information
When you fill in my Design your cake form, I collect your name, email address, any phone number you give me, and what you tell me about your cake: the occasion, size, flavours, design, date, any inspiration photos, and any allergies or dietary needs. Allergy and dietary details are health information, which UK data protection law treats as special category data. I only use them with your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form, and you can withdraw it at any time. I use your details only to plan and make your cake and to reply to you. I don’t use them for marketing, and I never sell or share them, except with my website host and email provider, who deliver the form to my inbox. Nothing you enter is stored on the website: your answers and photos come straight to me by email. Your photos are deleted from the website as soon as that email has been sent. The only thing the website keeps is a scrambled version of your IP address, for at most one day, to stop spam. I keep your enquiry email only for as long as I need it for your order and my business records. My emails and the 10% off sign-up
If you sign up through the 10% off pop-up on my website, I’ll ask for your first name and email address and for your OK to email you. I use them to send you your own discount code and then the occasional email about my bakes and treats. I won’t use them for anything else, and I’ll never sell or share them for anyone else’s marketing.
Your code is linked to your email address on my website so that only you can use it. I keep that link until the code has run out or been used, then tidy it away.
I only email you because you’ve said yes, so you can change your mind at any time. Just click “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any of my newsletters, or email me at hello@jodiebakes.co.uk and I’ll take you off the list. I keep your name and email address for as long as you’re subscribed. Once you unsubscribe, I’ll only keep a note of your email address so that I don’t email you again by mistake.
I send my newsletters using Mailchimp, which is run by Intuit Inc. Mailchimp stores your name, email address, your code and a record of when and from which internet address you signed up, only on my instructions, as my data processor. Mailchimp is based in the USA, so your details may be stored there. It protects them under the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the safeguards in its data processing terms. The pop-up doesn’t use cookies. It just leaves a small note in your own browser saying you’ve seen it or signed up, so it doesn’t keep popping up.
